Question Tachometer connection

Was interested in putting in an aftermarket tachometer, but I can't find the pick up for the tach siginal. Was wondering if anyone has an aftermarket tach and if so how did you hook it up, or if not do you have any suggestions on how to go about hooking a tachometer up.

Thumbs up

JDm,

It's great, can't believe how well it works. I think it was well worth the money, limited slips and posi units use clutches which will burn out after awhile and only give you approximatly 20% torque transfer to the other wheel when they are brand new, the only benefit I see of the limited slips are that they are much smoother on the steets. But if you want maximum traction, I suggest you get a locker. It was about $400 after shipping and handling. The installation was really easy, it took me about 2 to 3 hours in my driveway, that's it. no special tools needed.

Powertrax, I needed the Tach wire to install an aftermarket remote start. The instructions indicated the tach wire as: For the 4.6 Triton, tach is PINK/WHITE at driver side coil, on 5.4 Triton it's PINK/WHITE at harness through firewall on drivers side. (that's where I found mine, on the top of three thick harness's and it was'nt easy to connect to) For the V10, use the negative side of any ot the 10 injectors on the top of the engine.

Good luck, I don't know what they mean by the drivers side coil. Dennis
