Lightbulb Daytime Running Lights

I bought a 99 F150 XLT here in Alaska, and it came from canada. I tried to disable the drl's by pulling the fuse at the main box in the engine compartment, but of course the fog lights are wired with them. I've thought about cutting the wire that goes to the fusebox, but there is a cluster of about 40 wires. Any suggestions? ( I really dislike the daytime running lights )
Thanks in advance, Mike

Cool

Mike;
Try these links. Some of us would like to be in your position - - having DRL. I believe you'll find an easy, "non-intrusive" solution after reverse engineering members' info on (possible) installation http://www.voicenet.com/~storm/drl/ https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000088.html https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000009.html

BTW; some insurance companies will give you a discount for the DRL. Good luck ....

Unhappy

I just picked up my 2001 built in Canada.
I also picked up the F150 accesories catalog that states the DRL is standard equipment on vehicles built in Canada but mine don't turn on. I do have fog lights that work so it's not just a missing fuse.
What's up with that? I would like to have them.

Angry

I too have a 98 built in Canada. Not only did in not come with DRL, but the wiring harness doesn't have the connector to plug a DRL module into. After many months of questioning and looking around, I just gave up.

Lightbulb

Try pulling the DRL relay in the main fuse box under the hood. Your owner's manual has a diagram showing which one is which.

Exclamation

OK, to turn them on, you need a relay block to replace the loop back plug, and a resistor to plug in where there is currently a cap.
Anybody have these part #'s yet?
I have located easily where both go
