Wiring for 12 volt outlet
I've had a couple of people ask for instruction on how to wire the outlet.
I got the outlet from Walmart for just under $8.00.
First I started with a auxilary fuse block (I used a blade type you could use a barrel type) I mounted to behind the underhood fuse box.
I took power from the starter relay. I used 14 gauge wire to do all the wiring.
I then ran the wires to the rear of the truck (I ran the reverse lights, reverse light switch wire and 12 volt outlet all together in a wireloom)
I ran the wire up through the drivers side tail light and drilled a hole where I wanted to mount the outlet
I also used that wire to provide power to the cap light
I also used a relay when I wired up the reverse lights
I hope this helps some of you. It's not hard just take your time. I would only do this if you know your bed stays dry. JC Whitney has a water proof setup but you need to change the plugs on the 12 volt equipment.
