Pre-Runner;
Do a quick search on fog lights. You'll find there have been a couple of discussions reference the FUNCTIONALITY of the headlight switch. Although the headlight control switch appears to operate like an F-150 with oem fogs, the internal switch mechanisms (to turn on the fogs) may not be installed - - same switch cover - - different guts. The previous threads will have more detail. Good luck.

OK...sorry...should have read the next page of posts...figures.

HOWEVER..Since I purchased these from a fellow F-150 on-line member ( THANKS ROGER )..and he included the wiring to the foglights from his truck would it be easier to hook up a standard high quality relay and switch?

Question Adding Fog Lights

Help,

Have added a set of factory fog lights to my nephew's 97' XLT which did not have them. Had read that wiring was already in place ( it was )and also read about pulling the headlight switch (which surprised me but yes the switch was there!) but still no fog lights. Is there something I missed? A relay or fuse somewhere?

Scott

You can use a regular relay as well. That's what I did. I bought the entire kit with the new switch but instead of using the switch for my fog lights I used it for my KC daylighters. My fogs are just wired using a 30A relay to the 12V system and the parking lights activate the relay.
