Post windshield wipers

My windsheild wipers are sometimes actaivated when the turn signal indicater is used for either a left or right turn. I thought that perhaps I was turning the wipers on when I was activating the turn signals but that is not the case. Has anyone else experienced this? I belive it may be a failure in the turn signal arm circuit or contacts. This is a safety item. Do you think it would be covered?

It's called a phantom wipe and it's almost always due to a faulty multifunction switch (i.e., the turn signal stalk).
