Question Lariat keyless entry code

My dad just purchased a 2000 Lariat 4x4 OffRoad with 7000 miles on it. He got it through a dealership that didn't know the keyless entry code. (You know...the divorce scenario...she gets the truck and then sells it for the money and doesn't give any info on the truck...some of us have been there and got the t-shirt) anyway...The dealership(not Ford) told him that the code is somewhere on the body of the truck. Is this true??? If not, does anyone know how or if he can get it?

Thanks for any input you may have!!!!!

There should be instructions in the manual on how to reprogram the code. If you don't have the manual you can get it from www.ownerconnection.com. It's a similar procedure to programming key FOB's I believe (what the heck does FOB mean anyway?)

Cool

F150_skiff, on my 92 T-Bird it was on a decal on one of the trunk hinges. The owners manual will not tell you the code, and you need the original code to reprogram a new one. The original code always works. Check with a dealer to find out where on the truck the sticker with the code is, should be in a location not accessable without a key, or the owners manual might tell you where to look.

Keyless entry code

If you were sitting in the driver seat, look above where your left toe would be up against the firewall, there is a box look for a 5 digit # Larger than the other #s this is the original entry code.
Use a flashlight!

Haha. I didn't even notice the date of this thread. I was wondering how someone found a year 2000 F-150 with only 7,000 miles on it.

I thought the same thing... WTF a 6 year old truck with 7K miles ?? Then I read Norm's reply...oh now that makes sense. I know I did not post the pictures for the guy in Japan until 2003.

Well I/m glad it got revived. I was going to pay dealer $40 to tell me. I'll check to see if it is there on my 2003 HD.

40 bucks what a rip.

I think it only takes them a few seconds to get that info.

Thanks

I know it's over 6 months since the last post but this was a great info source. I just bought a 2000 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 yesterday and was looking for any info on the keyless entry or door keypad. I just went outside and got upside down in my new truck. Sure enough, it is (the entry code) crammed way up under the dash above where your left foot rests. Thanks for taking the time to post that.

In my F150 owners guide it says:
"Programing your own personal entry code"
Enter factory code
Press the "1/2" button within 5 seconds
enter your code within 5 seconds of each number (5 numbers)

I think thats it.

I just wanted to say thanks again. Forums like this save people a lot of money and time.
