OK, Im gonna change my advise. The add on kit from Ford sucks. It is just a control box that you have to wire in to your harness. Thus making what I call Frankenstein out of your wires. I took mine back. I have heard that all you have to do is buy the sensor that is on the dash(called an amplifier by Ford),and the new switch that has the autolight dimmer. The wires are supposed to already be there.

Unfortunatly, this is more expensive. It also requires that you drill a hole in the dash for the sensor to go through. That switch is about $70. The sensor is about $40. I am not sure if this works or not, but I bought the switch and the sensor. I will let you know if this works or not.

Installed the FORD daytime running light kit today.yes it has a few wires to connect but for a good reason.6 wires on the module. red to 12 volt constant. red-green to ing. switch power. red-black to low beam. brown to parking lights. purle-white to parking brake. BLACK to ground.----NOW on your 2000 XLT 150 yellow on ign.switch is 12volt constant. gray-yellow is ign. switch power. ON the head light switch,it self just pry's out of the dash you'll see at the bottom a slot to start prying do it gentle and the whole switch will come out of the dash. The red-black wire is the one you want for low beam. For the parking light wire on the head light switch the wire is small in size and color is white-red. Now connect the parking wire to switch buy parking brake pedal pad and to the left on medal braket. NOW you'll have head lights hi beam or low beam, you select with dimmer. 15 seconds after you turn on ign. switch... If you turn on your parking lights the headlights will go off...If you step on the parking brake the headlights will go off. as soon as you release the parking brake the lights will come back on. I installed my unit under the dash by the steering colum. the lights come on at 80% of their brightness about 10 volts works great. took me about 2 hrs. NOT in any hurry to screw up new truck. LEE

Does anyone know how to equip a 2000 Expy with DRLs? I have the autolites already installed. I cannot find a dummy module behind the left headlight as someone else suggested. It seems reasonable that the 2000 Expy would also be like the Canadian version and only require the addition of a module. Thanks
