Unhappy Keyless Entry - Illuminated Entry

Heres a strange one - the first time I unlock my Expi with the keyfob remote the illuminated entry lights don't work. If I try it again, the lights come on. This will only happen when it is cold. If I hit the keypad on the door the lights come right on. This usually happens first thing in the morning. Anybody have any ideas, bad relay on Keyless entry module, maybe?

Best Regards
Michael

Question

My 99Expy does the same thing. Only once in a while. Can't figure it. It definately is not related to temp though. It's an all year round type of thing. My 97 Expy didn't do it---Bob

Cool

Really really weird. I've seen where the door lights don't go on or don't go off when opening/closing the doors, and 9 times out of 10 that was cured by a healthy dose of good 'ol WD-40 sprayed into the door latch and opening/closing the door a dozen or so times.

Here's a thought, maybe you have excessive battery drain and the truck is putting itself in battery saver mode. Another words, if you leave lights on, after a while the truck will "check" itself, and if it sees it's got lights on, it shuts them down. Just a thought though. If you're still under warranty, take it to your favorite (if there is such a thing) dealership. There might be something on Oasis regarding this, or even a diag in the shop manual. I've never run across that problem though.

Talking

I think I found out what is happening! Hold down the unlock button until the interior light comes on. Sometimes it takes about a half a second. Must be something in the GEM causing a delay and not seeing the unlock signal.
