OK we went inside the pet store and came out and hit the remote to unlock the doors but they wouldnt open. Come to find out theirs a lot more to it then just that.

The truck is a 2006 F150 Supercrew Lariat. It has an aftermarket Remote start and stereo but these have been installed for over a year without any problems.

Problem. Not only have the door locks stop working but also the Automatic headlights stopped working ( They work in manual position ) Also the radio now longer shuts off when the key is taken out and the door is open. The dome light no longer comes on when the door is open ( It comes on when the key is turned off though.

I checked all the fuses but they all seem to be good. I am thinking this may be a BCM problem but not sure. Any help would be great.

 

The issues could be the same source, or multiple.

The door & radio problem sounds like the splice in the driver's side door sill

Take a read of this thread, it provides a good amount of detail on similar symptoms and where the problem with the splice might be located ( seems to be slightly different depending on cab config & build date ).

The auto headlamps, just had this issue come up a few weeks ago, member had similar symptoms, and found a burnt off pin at the BSM / VSM ( Body / Vehicle Security Module), F-150 does not have a BCM, that is a GM term.

With the RKE, the door locks are also controlled by the VSM, so maybe check for a loose ground on the VSM is in order ??
