When you say the 12 V plug works have the time, is this is it dead or blows a fuse ?
If it is just dead half the time, it is always with the same device ?

The Overdrive does not work, or the fuse for the overdrive blows ?
- If it is the fuse blowing, at the end of the chrome shift tube ( under the plastic steering wheel column cover ) check for insulation missing off the wires.
Sometimes the wire chaffs, exposing the wire.

Fuse # 29 is common to both the Autolamps and the trans controls, don't know if this fuse is blowing or not.

Fuse 29 controls the trans control switch, autolamps, the CSM ( Central Security Module, RKE fobs & keypad on handle if installed ) and the belt minder module.

What does this mean ?

It works or does not work ?

These are 2 different fuses, 1 is the cigar lighter, the other is the power point.

thanks for stickin with me sccully. the left side of the 12v plug is working great but the right plug i think is the cig lighter cause i can stick something into the plug and got to wiggle it around alot alot to get it to work and sometimes it won't work. So what amp is the fuse for the overdrive/automatic lights i think it is a 5 the fuse that blows is under the steering column but i will replace it and it will blow the same week and i don't even have to touch the overdrive button how can i check the wires cause it has to have a short in it ?

You need to remove the plastic steering wheel cover, and check the wires at the end of the shift tube ( as posted above ). If the wires are damaged, that is all that is needed. Power goes to the switch, to make the on / off work.
