The lock out on the driver's side wouldn't happen to be engaged would it? I take it all the other switches aren't lit up?

Take a look at your owners manual, it will show the bottom switch ( towards the rear of the truck ) that is side to side as the window lock.

If the other switches' LEDs are not illuminated, press the switch the other way, and check again.

Big Dawg, I had the exact same problem. bought a 70 dollar switch I didn't need. Pull the rubber boot back at the drivers door. I can just about guarantee there will be a broken wire. Mine was yellow with a red stripe, 16 gauge. Look hard, I bet you find it.

I would say you have a problem with the switches on the other doors.

The at-rest position on them is how the driver's side switch activates the power window motor. If this works when pressing on the switch, sounds like the switch has dirty contacts in it.

Not sure what MY F-150 you have, your profile is not completed, and you did not include any specs on your truck, so I cannot include the test for the switches.

Might want to take a look in the technical articles section for a thread on repairing the switch LEDs, there is some info on newer MY trucks in there on cleaning the switch contacts. Could be just carboned contacts, and pressing on the switch moves it to a clean section, or the contacts could be bent from using the switch like this over time.

Power switches

I have a 2001 F150 and my power windows work but they keep blowing fuses,
I hear a clicking sound from the relay in the fuse box when I use the drivers side window switch, would this be the switch or maybe a motor problem? I have switched relays in the box and the clicking sound keeps coming from the same relay slot so it's not a bad relay. any help would be appriciated.

Thanks Dave

Question Hijacker

Not to hijack the thread, but...

My brother's 06 F150 needs a new master switch (4-button for windows) and I found one on E-bay for an 01-02. From the pic it looks the same. Any idea if it's compatible?

Not the same, the 97-03 MY trucks are different switches than the 04+ MY switches.
