To Beat a Dead Horse. Window Switch FRIED
To Beat a Dead Horse. Window Switch FRIED
Soooooo I had the same problem so many of us have experienced with our driver side, etc window going down then slowing then speeding back up. I always just dealt with it and said screw it.
I noticed I could hear the click when pushing the buttons down on all of the switches except for the Up click of the driver side window. Figured it was a switch problem, and it has been for a couple of us.
Wellllllllllllllllllllllllll, So I was at work sitting in my truck(Working very very hard) and it was nice outside so I had my window down. Well, this time when I went to put it up when I held the button down I heard clicking that sounded like sparks. I was like uh-oh. Then a little bit of smoke started coming out from where the switches are. Definitely uh-oh.
So I popped the switch assembly out of the door and low and behold that the contact point of the window to go up had actually sparked and apparently melted off. So if anyones having this problem, might want to get it fixed quickly. I might throw up a picture later for you guys to see what happens lol

Without that stuff in the switch, nothing's going to work. Make sure when you get a new switch you specify one with improved "smoke seals", then, you can look forward to many trouble-free years of window operation. In all seriousness though, Cokacola, great post.
Might just save someone from driving home in a rainstorm with the window down.- Jack
