Anyone experienced this?

Went to my buddies house this evening. When I pulled up to his house, my parking brake light came on. Checked the brake and it was not engaged. When I left to come home, the light had cleared and all appeared to be fine. While driving home w/ the cruise control set, the parking brake light came back on the cruise control shut off. When the parking brake light was on, I could use my cruise control but whenever the parking brake light was off, my cruise control worked fine. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions? I'm hoping maybe it's just a loose connection w/ a wiring harness but I have know idea where to look or where to start looking.

My light would come on then go off turns out the brake fluid was low.

I would start with checking the parking brake switch, to see if the connectors are loose.

This is a switch from ground to the instrument cluster. Not much else ( aside from the instrument cluster ).

The parking brake used as the brake fluid level indicator was valid on the 97-03 MY F-150s, the 04+ MY ( excluding 2004 Lightning & Heritage ) changed to a brake fluid level switch, separate from the parking brake switch, so that is not applicable for your MY. Good info for the 97-03 MY owners.
