Been searching 3 years for 2004 "16" airbag code...

I hate asking for help, but, my airbag light has been on for three years, I've searched everywhere online, and can't find a listing for code 16 (1 flash pause, 6 flashes). If anybody knows what this code is I would be very grateful!

Seems you have a problem with the passenger side occupant sensor or the seat belt tension system.

Did you have the passenger seat out, or do work under the passenger side seat ?

passenger belt tensioner has a sensor in it .... could of gone bad.... or you could find out the resistance of the sensor that it recognizes and throw a resistor in its place

Make sure you have the battery disconnected at least 15 minutes before you play with any airbag wiring!

There may be some other cautions, but that's the first that comes to my mind.

I've had a mini coopers bags go off on me at work hitting a rotor that was frozen on off with a 5 pound sledge haha. Kind of funny becuase after doing the brakes I had to go for a test drive after with all the bags blown out lol. Mini well BMW covered the bill on that becuase it "should of never happened"

YAY! Wire harness under passenger seat was unplugged. Don't know how it got unpluged, the locking tab was not broken and I'm the origional owner. I guess it was never fully inserted when manufactured. Thanks everyone for your help.

That (unplugged connectors under the passenger seat) seems to be coming up as a common issue for your generation truck...
