Exclamation need help with anti-theft system

I have a 2006 ford f150 stx 4.6 I can not get my truck to start. Is there anyway to reset the anti theft system so that my truck will start. My truck is paid off and I do have the title. But i think that that the anti theft device switch has been fliped to make the truck not start. Before my truck was paid off if I was late on a payment the finance company could disable the truck to where it would not start. But now that I dont owe on it that shouldnt happen. But I think it has. So can anyone help me to get my truck reset so it will start. Please let me know it is the only transportation that I have to get l my kids to where they need to go.

What you are talking about is not a factory option from Ford, sounds a lot like GM onStar.

If you turn the key from the off to the run position ( do not start ) does the theft light go out ? The theft light is on the top of the dash, blinking red LED when the truck is turned off.

When you say it will not start, what is the symptom ( crank no start, no crank, etc ) ?

If you have a crank no start, and the theft light is not flashing fast when the engine is cranking, have you checked the fuel inertia switch ( passenger side kick panel ) ?

Have you tried the other key ?

it sounds funny, but seriously check the other key too. When my brother bought his truck, we couldn't get it to crank. We went back 2 times to get them to give us the 2 of the right keys to the right truck (we had 1 to his and 1 to another one on the lot... hmmm). But even if the key was ground a little wrong you may not be able to start it

If you have a remote disable system installed by a slimeball dealer, you need to go back to them to have it removed.

The factory anti-theft system itself cannot be accessed remotely without modification, nor can it be "reset". If the PATS system is disabling the engine, it notifies the driver by rapidly flashing the THEFT light during a starting attempt.
