It started out as an intermittent problem but now the just stay off. The odometer still works though. My dome lights and all exterior lights are working also. I am thinking it might be in the light switch dial. The dimmer is working to turn on the interior lights and dims the dash whenever it does light up. Any other ideas on what it could be? If it is the switch, do I have to replace the whole switch and dimmer or can I just replace the switch?

Did you check the fuse for them ?

 

yes, the fuses are ok. There have been times they have come on and even stayed on for a couple of weeks before blacking out again.

 

Testing the interior lamp section of the switch is the next thing to try

 

I will look at this. I just want to make sure I am being clear on what is not working. The headlights, all inside dome and reading lights are working. I is just the Dash lights that are not working.

That is what I understood, but I posted the wrong diagram.



The test for them is to jumper around the panel dimmer switch.

The back of the headlamp switch, jumper the dark blue w/ white wire to the Light Blue w/ red stripe wire.
