Trailer Lights

I have an 07 with a towing package, about 13 months ago I installed a Recon tailgate light bar, pluged it into the 4 prong outlet, no problems. A couple of days ago I noticed that the bar was not working. I checked various fuses in the cab fuse box, as outlined in the manuel that are related to the trailer light connection, all are fine.
The inline fuse in the bar was corroded and the connection on the spring side was broken. I pluged the 4 prong connection back into the truck and bypassed the inline fuse, still no lights on the bar, could be that the bar is beat and thats fine.
I wish to determine that there is power to the rear bumper connection. Is there an inline fuse somewhere between the rear bumper and the passenger side fuse box????
I am down south on vacation and do not have my electrical tester with me.

I'm certain there are no inline fuses to the trailer plugs. If you are anywhere near a "Harbor Freight" store, you can buy a cheap digital multimeter there for under $5.00, that will work fine for the kind of testing you need to do. There is also a 4-pin connector LED tester I've seen somewhere (probably in automotive stores like Pep Boys) that would probably be perfect for your needs. They don't cost much either.

How did you check the fuses without a test light or meter ?

How did you check that the "bypass" was done correctly ?

I removed the fuses from the box, visually checked the wire in each related fuse.

I sniped the metal ends from the wire where it contacted the inline fuse and connected the two ends together, taped it and pluged the bar into the tow light connection. no light.
