So I bought some LED's and i was planning on installing them. Then i thought, hey i have no clue where to connect them. I want them to turn on when I turn the cars headlights on (like how the instrument panel lights up when the lights turn on). So what wire(s) would this be? And would i need a relay or just straight from the wire? Thanks.
haha lol yea i think its time to make my profile.

im just getting maybe like 4 led's or this light kit (not pink, but that same type http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/LED...U_SC05/754000/). Im not sure the wattage of either, but the led lights (not tube) are very small.

Without knowing the load, the same route is to use a relay.
You can use an add-a-fuse in the radio fuse slot to supply power to the relay.
The back of the main headlamp switch, the brown wire is the parking lamp circuit, use this to trigger the relay.
This diagram is a little generic ( made for powering items with the key on ), but will work :

Pin 30 instead of fused to the battery, would be the add-a-fuse in the radio slot.
Pin 87 is to the LED you want to add.
Pin 85 is to the brown wire on the headlamp switch
pin 86 is ground.
This way when you turn on the parking lamps, the added LEDs will be on.

I can guess 14 AWG would work, but without knowing the load of the LEDs, it is just a guess that could be wrong.
2000 xlt I used the light wire from cup holder. drilled hole in each cup of cup holder and installed blue leds. one blue led for lighter. 24" under dash blue neon tubes. Not blowing fuses yet. But I really need to put a fuse in line before I blow dash lights some night!
