Lightbulb Replace dash lights, or ...?

I left the country for a few years, and when I got back to my truck I noticed a few problems.
I have a 2002 F-150 Flareside 2WD 4.2L.
The lights behind my speedometer and other gauges don't light up anymore, as with the lights for my A/C and such. The digital odometer mileage light is on, however. Also the radio lights for the buttons don't light up, only the display.
On my model, there is a sort of slider control next to my headlight **** that I can use to control how bright or dim all of these failed lights are, or slide it all the way up to turn on my interior light. All of the lights that are controlled by the slider don't work.
My interior light works fine, leading me to believe the slider switch is fine. Also I tested all the fuses, including the ones under the hood, which all look fine.
Hopefully I don't need to replace any bulbs (since it seems impossible for the radio), but is there any other solution?
Thanks in advance

Here is a thread from a few days ago on similar symptoms.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/el...el-lights.html

Has the wire color codes on switch connector to jumper, to see if the dimmer switch is the problem.

The dome lamp on at the top of the dimmer switch is a different set of contacts and circuit.

Any idea on how to pull the dimmer switch?
Also I was looking on Ford's site fordparts.com and can't find a dimmer. Where can I find one?

The dimmer and headlight switch are a unit.
Does your "LightsOn Alarm" work?
If so, it may be just a bulb problem.

Is the LightsOn Alarm the chime when I keep the headlights on when the door is open?
If so, then it does work.

Yep, that's the one.

Now's the time to jumper 12V to the panel lights at the dimmer output.

Read post #50 in the No Panel Lights thread for instructions on how to pull the switch.

Disconnect the connectors and put 12V on the LtBlu/red wire. When you do that you're bypassing the cab fuse and the switch. If the bulbs don't light, replace the easiest one and try the jumper again. If they still don't light there's a break in the wire.

If the bulbs light then you still need to check for 12V at the input to the dimmer (I think that's DkBlu/W) with the connectors in place and the headlight switch in park or head. If 12V is there, it's the dimmer.

It is part of the main headlamp switch, order the one for your options ( fogs, Autolamps, or none of the above ).

EDIT : you were replying when I was.

This means you now have instrument cluster and control / switch lighting ( at full brightness ) ?

If so you can order a new switch or take a look in the classified section here for a replacement.
