Power Window Regulator Issues- F 150/Expedition

As most have discovered, an inoperable window regulator in your fine Ford products is caused by inexpensive cables used in the regulator system. The cables fray and lodge themselves deep inside the cable casing, thus, freezing up the up and down motions of the window. Unfortunately, the cables can not be replaced separately. The only apparent fix is replacing the entire window regulator system ($344). Come on Ford! Your claim for the F series trucks has always been "Built Ford Tough" and "Built to Last". However, there is more to a vehicle than a tough frame, body and mechanical's. The creature comfort items that we pay for dearly, such as power windows. should be expected to function for many years without issues. After all my 1986 Grand Marquis' window regulators function just fine after 24 years and its a just a car!

Actually it is not most have discovered this, I would put this as the last issue on the list when a power window stops working.
The more common items are a switch problem, or the power window motor gets carbon build up in it, and needs a thunk against a tire.

In place of 'as most have discovered', you should have posted 'I have discovered'.

Perhaps it was a way to post a gripe. I happen to work with Ford and I am among 13 people in my department alone, that have experienced frayed power window regulator cables in our F 150's and Expedition's and not carbon build up on the window motor? Those of us that are out of the warranty period have to pay for a window regulator to be replaced on either of the remaining three doors of our vehicles once or even sometimes twice a year. What gives?
