04 f150 i want to change the map light bulbs to leds. how do i get to the bulbs and does anyone know what size bulb they are

Do you have the overhead console or the rail ?

The overhead console is up with spring clips.

Open the rear compartment, and pull down in each corner. This will start it down.

Can't recall right now, it is 4 or 6 spring clips holding it up.

Once you have it down, you will see the gray bulb holders installed from the back, quarter turn holders ( like the instrument cluster has ).
I am not 100% ( never pulled one out ) but I think they are holders for 194 bulbs. It is easy enough to take down, and pull the bulb holder out to take it to Napa with you.

Thread in the Technical Articles section that shows the bulb holders on the instrument cluster, might have the part numbers for them, if they are the same.

 

i have the rail system in mine. the part with the lights to it is just lights and a switch for the back window. my compartment slides on the rails
