Ok guys, help me out. I went and picked my dad up Sat morning as we went on our little hunting trip. I got to his house and left the truck running with the heater on as it was a little chilly and put my headlight switch to the Parking lights setting. We loaded up his gear and went to leave. I put the switch back to the headlights and they came on. BUT my fogs didn't come back on. I could pull the switch in and out and the inducator never lit up and my fogs didn't come back on. I cut the truck off and recranked it to no avail. We went down the road about 40 miles to our hunting spot and stopped and got breakfast at a Hardees. We cam back out and my headlights AND fogs work fine. Switch is lit up indicating the fogs are on (orangish light).
What gives?? I did replace all the bulbs the night before to Silverstars, but I don't think that has ANYTHING to do with my problem or potential problem. At first I though there may be a fuse for the fogs that went out. Then I began wondering if the switch itself was bad. Both of those theories are disputed as the whole setup is working fine. And why doesn't the "Auto" on the switch put the fog lights on. I like the extra added light and always have to turn and pull the switch for teh fogs to come on. You'd think in a Lariat package truck something this simple would be a no-brainer. Any ideas on what went wrong or if somethings going out??----DirtySCREW

I would still get it checked, just to elimiate it. They can be defective or it's also possible that the altenator is not fully charging it.

Yea, the battery light comes on at WOT. Someone suggested my alternator is about to go out. That's probably what it is, and its not fully charging the battery like you said---DirtySCREW

1. Did you do the modification to the fog lamp switch ( ramp job ) and the relocate of the power to the switch ?
2. Did you accidentally press the MFS forward, so the high beams were on ?

No & No. All I did Fri night was pull the bulbs out and put the Silverstars in. So the headlights and fog lights are all Silverstars.
Yea, I know the fogs go off when you put you high beams on (don't know why, I think its stupid).
I did a little digging on here and it seems that only the Regulators go out normally instead of the whole alternator....at least that a little less expensive.

The plastic was shaved away so the fog lamps could be turned on in the parking and autolamp ( if equiped ) **** positions.
The relocation of the power to the fog lamp switch, from the MFS low beam position to the parking lamps made it so the fog lamps could be turned on with the low or high beams.
The factory operation is the MFS low beam circuit feds CJB ( aka Central Junction Box, cab fuse panel ) fuse #27 to power the switch.
When the high beams circuit is powered, Fuse #27 is a dead circuit, and the fog lamp relay coil drops, and shuts the fog lamps off.
The power relocation part can be done if you want to have the fogs on with the lo or high. Simple 2 scotch lock and short piece of wire modification.
