Question electrical problem

My daughter has a 99 explorer 4.0 xls, if she turns on her 4way flashers they do not flash and her turn signals quit working untill you turn of the 4ways.She is worried about breaking down with no flashers. I did push down the 4way flasher button very slowly and the flasher on the left side worked but not the right, anyone have an idea of what the problem is? I'm thinking it is the multifunction switch in the steering column, Any help would be much appreciated Dirt1dobber@yahoo.com!

Did you try moving the tilt column all the way up and all the way down, to see if there is a change ?

I am guessing the connector at the base of the steering column is pulled apart, but this is a guess from similar symptoms on a F-150, so it might not be the same

I would say the next step is to test the MFS.

Not sure if they are 1:1 the same as the F-150.
This is the test chart for the F-150 MFS
