Power Windows dont work, fuse is fine.
Went to work today with windows working fine like always. came out and pushed the button and nothing worked. the driver and passenger side both, and the button on the passenger side doesnt do anything. checked the fuse under the hood, everything checks out ok. what else could it be?
Did you check the cab fuse # 14 ?
That is for the accessory delay relay, which is what allows the windows to operate after the key is turned off, until ~ 10 min or the door is opened.

OK, that is strange.
CJB ( aka Central Junction Box , cab fuse panel ) fuse #14 is fed from BJB Fuse # 103 ( 50A ).
This is the circuit for the coil to the battery saver relay and Normally open contacts that feed the Interior Lamp relay, the Acc delay relay, and the interior lamps ( glove compartment lamp, engine bay lamp, and the map lights ).
The order I would check :
1. Pull and check the bulb in the engine compartment, to make sure it is OK ( meter both pins to ground with the hood up, only 1 side should be grounded ).
1.1. If this is OK, leave the bulb out.
2. Pull and check the glove compartment lamp, same as the engine compartment lamp
3. Pull the Interior lamp relay.
At this point, install the 15 A fuse in CJB Fuse #14, and see if it blows.
This should give us a direction to check for a short.
If it is OK, :
4. Install the bulb in the glove box, & test
5. Install the bulb in the Engine compartment & test
If this is OK, the problem is with the circuit to the interior lamps, and we will need to dive into that.

well ****. did all of that. blew, every time i put a new fuse in it blows immediately. I thought maybe the dome light was shorting because the door being open. i took out the bulb and it still blows out immediately when i plug a new one in.
So with the interior lamp relay, engine compartment bulb and glove box bulb out, the fuse still blows immediately ?
That leaves the maps lights. Easiest is to pull the overhead console down, and unplug the overhead console from the truck, and try again.
The trim level question, is it a XL, XLT, Lariat ?

its an XLT. and when i had that relay out and new fuse in, nothing worked. so when i plug in back in the fuse blew. i keep thinking it could be the dome light since it blows when the door is open. when i was fooling around with it the other night i kept the door closed and crawled down and put a fuse in and the windows worked. then later it blew
When you unplugged the interior lamp relay, the windows stopped working ?
This is what we are trying to get to, is where the short is at.
The map lights and the dome lamps are in the same unit, but they are 2 different bulbs ( one is direct from the fuse, the other is via the interior lamp relay )

so obviously there is a short somewhere. any ideas on where to look first?
