chiming noise will not stop...
hi i just bought a 99 f150 4x4 extended cab with a 4.6 over the weekend. while i test drove it i couldn't find anything wong. now i have been driving it a couple days there is a chim noise when you first star the vehical which i know is normal but now it tends to keep going for about 2 min even after i buckle up and start driving. then every once in awhile it will come back on while im driving, the seatbelt light or the door ajar light does not come on while the noise is going on i tried to figure out what it is but i cant figure it out. if anyone could help me out i would be greatly thankfull cause its driving me insane.... thank you for your time
Could be the tab for the key in ign chime is loose in the ign switch.
Dad had this happen.
Followed JMC's post ( #10 ) in this thread to gain access to it, and when I took the tumbler set out, the tab fell out also.
No more key in ign for no reason, but the key in the ign does not work either ( dad also wanted this ).

In the GEM if memory serves me correctly.
You would have to unbolt the Cab fuse panel / GEM combo.
Unplug all the connectors to both.
Unbolt the GEM from the CJB ( aka Central Junction Box / cab fuse panel )
Unsolder the speaker from the GEM.
Follow JMCs post, I was a bit hesitant, but it went really easy.
Took all of 4 min tops, to remove it, watch the part drop on the floor, put it back in, and test the ignition switch.
