Strange Buzzing noise????

Hey all, I have a quick question. I have a loud buzzing noise behind the steering whell in the dash it sounds like. It only happens when I use my blinker and seems to happen more often to the left and if I am turning the wheel at the same time??? It stops as soon as I turn the blinker off and doesnt happen every time just occasional. Any suggestions?

I have the same thing, except it only happens to me when I signal a right turn. I haven't noticed it being effected by turning the wheel. I can usually get it to stop by returning the signal to neutral, then activating it again. Like you, it doesn't seem to happen all the time, but for me it seems to happen when I don't "firmly" move the turn signal up.

I'm reasonably sure the problem is in the Multi-Function Switch, and I'd guess that we might be hearing an electrical "arcing" in that device. I notice the turn signal is NOT working when the buzzing noise is present.

If it get's too bad, I'll investigate it. Right now it's only happening once in a while and I can live with it. Besides, it's too hot to be working on my truck right now.

SSINDYKR,

With your symptoms being a bit more regular, can you try changing the tilt on the steering wheel column, and see if it is the same ?

I am thinking along the lines of the harness or MFS, excluding the MFS should have no impact on which way the wheel is pointed. That would be a clock spring issue, which is airbag, horn, and controls.
