Blinker Issues
Blinker Issues
I've searched around here and didn't find anything about my issue. My blinkers stopped working today, so naturally I checked the fuse. It was blown, so I replaced it and they worked again. I checked everything while the truck wasn't running and it was working fine. I went out for a drive again, and they stopped working... The fuse was blown again so I began checking the lights for exposed wires that might be an obvious short. Again I replaced the fuse after looking for any signs of shorts, and everything was working. I turned on the headlights thinking maybe they caused the fuse to blow, but they still worked. Right after starting the truck though the fuse blows and the blinkers don't work. Would this be a realy or......???? 2006 F150. Thank you,
Ryan

Is it starting that causes the fuse to blow? Can you replace the fuse with the engine running, and is it fine until the next start sequence? If the ignition is OFF, and you replace the fuse, is it still all right when you turn the ignition to ON without starting the truck?
If it's starting that's the problem, somehow the heavy starting current is possibly "leaking" into the flasher circuit. Doesn't seem like you should have a problem like this on an 06, but....
Wonder if the fault is up in the wiring behind your steering wheel? Everything is in close proximity up there.
