Empty Ashtray

I bought my truck about 8 months ago and I have an empty slot were the ashtray should go. There is just a gray peice of plastic screwed in there. Any ideas on what I should install in there? Im open to anything just want to make yse of it cuz as of now it looks hideous.

Might want to try a search in the 2004 - 2008 F-150 & Appearance Products forums.

This is not really an electrical question, but each of those forums have hits on a search for ash tray

Remove that plate and see if you have the tracks for an ashtray there. There have been some available on eBay. I use mine to hold change since I don't smoke.

That looks like the ashtray without the face on it.

If you pull off the center trim panel, you should see 2 screws at the top corners.

You can order another ash tray for the FX4 with the wave finish on it.

I see why you want to remove that cover. It looks like he cut it with a pair of pliers. I can't figure out what he had in there. Could it be a trailer brake controller?

This is completely off subject, but how do you post photos directly to a thread like you did with these "photos of carnage"?

Not sure what was in there (brake controller? satellite radio control? etc) But my ashtray does not work right, so spending the money to get one might not be worth it if they mess up so easily.
