radio stays on and dome lights or door adjar do not turn on when door opens

I believe it's the purple wire splice made by ford in the back c pillar, drivers side. I still have the problem because there is so much water in my door sills. When warmer weather comes I will tear it apart and find that splice. Water could be in there causing the short or just a bad splice.

I pulled both sill plates (front and back - SuperCrew) and as far as I can follow the purple wire (I assume solid purple no stripe) under the pillar covers without pulling the covers I can't find a splice? Maybe the pillar covers have to come off but I can't see exactly how they come off nor do I know where this splice should be in the SuperCrew. My rear door used to work properly but since I've been messing with the purple wire it no longer does (passenger side is still fine) so I'm a believer that the purple wire is my issue if I could only find that darn ellusive splice!!

I have also posted this in excursion sub but wanted to post here also just in case someone knows. I am having similar issues in an 02 Excursion. The key fob or powerlocks wont work.Map light does not come on when the door is opened (you can turn it on by pressing light). Radio and illuminated buttons stay on after key is removed and door is opened. Power windows and mirrors work.

I have a 04 Supercrew with the same problems. Radio won't shut off with the key off and door opened, door ajar light stays off, dome lights don't come on, windows don't go up or down etc. Found the violet wires where two go into one wrapped in hockey tape. It is under the rear sill panel behind the drivers seat. It didn't looked corroded but when I pulled the tape off you could see it was. Hats off to whoever found this fix!!! Saved me $$$$ doing it myself.

2006 Screw-I have been having problems with the dome lights for quite awhile. I noticed the radio staying on over the last two weeks. I saw these posts and checked the splice for purples. It looks very good. Splice was up with nothing on the wires. But a green wire with an orange stripe is severely corroded and has been for some time. Has anyone heard of this wire being the cause? Thanks

Ive never been able to find the purple wite splice in my 2006 f150. Ive taken the switch from the hinge and tested it. Worked fine. Checked the wires from in the door to the back pillar with no luck. All the way to the connector in the back pillar. Im thinking it may be in the latch/switch. Maybe the latch has worn just enough. Idno. My radio stays on and no lights come on when i open the driver door only
