Go back and re-check the colors of the wires. They should be bi-color, that is, a solid color plus a stripe. Be sure to strip back the outer black covering enough so you're past any color that is faded.
Hopefully it doesn't apply, but if you have any propensity towards color-blindness, this would be a good time to get a second opinion.

Hope this helps to somebody, I found where this harness was cut from. ( see the picture), once I Replace the complete part, code 16 went away. unfortunately for me after that I got a 33 code which was about pretensioners in both seatbelts and the bulb on "passenger airbag off" light, not a big deal, of course it was diagnosed by an expert. Now it is working well.
