97 F150, Viper 5301 programming problem
I can’t seem to get my system's learn routine to change a setting. By default, the unit is set to manual transmission mode, but I have an automatic. Here’s what I’ve been doing…
1. Inside the vehicle with the door closed.
2. Turn IGN on and off.
3. Press and hold program button until LED flashes 3 times.
4. At this point I release the program button, and the LED flashes three times.
5. Press and release the program button once, then press and hold, the LED flashes 1 time.
6. Still holding the program button, hit the unlock button on the remote, the LED flashes 2 times.
7. Release the valet button, turn IGN on and off.
8. Get out of vehicle, close door, press RS button on remote.
9. I get an error tone and the parking lights flash 7 times.
Any idea why my change won’t stick?
