Strange electrical issue - 2004 F-150

Hello all,

I have a 2004 Lariat (new body) with a weird electrical problem. I noticed last winter, and now that the temps have been cold again it's back.
Basically, power will come on whenever it wants. I can not have the key in the ignition and stereo will stay on, dash lights will come on and in some cases the truck won't even start. So far this winter there have been no problems with starting but when it wouldn't the only way I could get it to start was bang on the kick panel were the fuse box is and it would fire right up.

I know I have let this go to long, but it only happens when the temps get really cold, below say 25. My main problem has been the fact that my stereo will come on and would drain my battery, but my quick fix to that is detaching the face plate enough to cut power to the radio.
I will be installing a new stereo in the next few weeks that does not have a detachable face, so this fix will not work anymore.

Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced anything like this or have any ideas at what I can check out?

Sorry for the long post, thanks in advance

Sounds similar, worth a look.

Door sill plates pop up easy enough, just takes some time to look through.

Read the test, others reported the wires in a different location
