so i've wired everything as per the directions. could someone tell me how to get the locks to work? Do i have to go straight off the door lock motor because i went off the switch at the pink/yellow and pink/lt. blue but locks are not working. Is there more I should be hooking up? all help is appreciated.

You need to determine wheter or not you have remote keyless or not.

The wiring is different for each.

it says for remote keyless wires will be pink/yellow for lock and pink/lt. blue for unlock. I have located those and wired the lock and unlock wires to them and have not been able to get it to work.

well a remote starter uses different wires to arm/disarm, and lock/unlock. this would tell me that you have the arm/disarm correct, but not the lock/unlock. have you verified the wires that you tapped into for the locks? actuate the locks by hand and verify that you have the correct wires first of all. next, is to make sure that you have the polarity correct. i have seen SEVERAL times where the instructions list the wrong polarity for different functions. depending on the features of the remote starter, you may be able to change an "onboard relay" jumper...... if it doensnt have them, you can add your own external relay. very easy to hook up though.

based on the fact that you went off the wires directly at the switch, i would assume that you just have the wrong polarity. try to run a jumper from a ground source to one of the lock wires..... just touching the jumper to the wire should activate the lock cycle. then do it on the other one too..... your locks should cycle when a ground is introduced.

then i would verify that the starter unit is putting out a ground to the lock/unlock wires when you push the buttons.

let us know what you find out. i absolutely love installing remote starters, but i have found that they sometime do require you to pick your brain apart and do some troubleshooting....thats the bad part to electronics..... you can always see whats wrong, so you have to get clever and find it!!!
good luck and let us know !

ok, i just found another website which states that your wire codes should be:

lock: pink/yellow
unlock: pink/light green

this is just a little different, so check and see which one is correct.

ok. i'm hooked up to both those. but now i'm reading the install. instructions and there is also 2 wires i currently do not have hooked up. I'm not sure if this could be the problem i was told it isnot but here we go. the 2 wires that are not hooked up are a arm output and the description says 500mA ground output when the LOCK button is pressed. This output is activated 500ms before the LOCK pulse and deactivatd 250ms after the LOCK pulse ends. wire 2 is a Disarm negative output stating 500mA ground output when the UNLOCK button is pressed. SHould these 2 be connected somewhere? and if so where? sorry for the headaches everyone but the help is great
