Battery change question

I need to change the battery on my 2001 5.4 Supercrew. First question-is this a basic job (the shop wants $42 labor) i.e undo the cables, battery clamped on the tray, easy to remove? Second question - is there any kind of computer reset associated with the change?

The hardest part is lifting it out and setting the new one in. Really, it is very straight forward, takes maybe 10 minutes. No, nothing to reset except the clock and psooibly the radio buttons.

i did it today... backed up the 150 to the truck that needed the new batt, a f-350, and that made it so i didn't need a ladder to get high enough to pick it up easily... took off the bat clamp, 1/2" nut on the batt cables, take them off, and lift....

almost as easy as changing a wiper blade, just heavier...

My radio presets held.
The clock went to 12:00, that's about it.
ps. DO NOT pay someone $42 to change your battery.
Advance Auto will install for free, they are nationwide, good battery selection.

You are not alone.
I'm fairly handy but, I pretty much can't change wiper blades without making woman sounds.

I thought I was the only one! I think I'm going to break them before I figure them out. They're like some kind of puzzle.

To continue this hijack: Why can't these flippin things be "standardized"? It's not like they're hi-tech or anything.

First, try to do it yourself-Super easy, disconnect it (negitive first) remove the hold down (ask where it is if you don't see it at the shop) and pop that puppy out. If your unable for what ever reason-go definately go someplace like advance where they do it for free.
Second as far as windsheild wipers... I forget how to do it everytime I do it, in fact I don't even really know how I did it after I'm done-I just know I now have the old ones in my hands.

Thanks for the replies, battery looks easy. As for the wipers I just bought some basic ones from Napa and they took me two minutes. Usually I go crazy trying to figure them out.

The OEM battery does not have a carry strap, most replacement batteries do.
This comes into play when you try to put the battery cover back on.
You have to decide:
Remove the strap for a good fit
or
Leave the strap on for a 'not-so-good' fit.

I opted for the bad fit/leave strap, because I ain't getting any younger.
