What year truck?

For '04 --> 08:

Is the headlight switch turned all the way to the left (counterclockwise). If so then the autolamp feature is turned on and there will be delay before the lights turn off. This delay is also adjustable!

It sounds like a "shorted" (to the ON position) headlight switch, doesn't it? But, a switch is a fairly simple device and I've not read or heard of this problem before. It could also be a fault in the wiring I guess. Perhaps worn insulation that completes the ON circuit regardless of the switch position.

Does the switch "feel" normal when you turn it?

Does your truck have a tilt wheel and is it possible that the wiring from the high/low beam switch in the steering column is being pinched/worn by the movement of the tilt wheel? If you have a tilt wheel, does moving the wheel cause anything to happen?

These are just thoughts running through my mind that may give you some ideas.

Good luck!
