Wondering why my passenger airbag light would come on when I am in my truck by myself? Without a butt in the seat it should stay deactivated.

In my 2004, the light comes on and says airbag is deactivated if there is weight, not an adult amount of weight, on the seat. I don't know what the threshold weight for the passenger seat airbag sensor is, but my laptop bag will make my "Passenger Airbag Off' light come on. It thinks I have a child sitting in the seat because of the weight. Don't know if that helps answer your question of not. If that dosen't help, have it looked at. You don't want to mess around with a malfunctioning airbag.
