Fan????

Why are you guys installing after market fans?? I understand it must be for cooling but are they for modded engines? My trucks temp is always spot on.

well e-fans frees up available torque, increase mileage about 1 to 2 mpg, increases engine space, allows for better a/c cooling at idle, could add extra cooling for high demand.

yes, i just did this to mine a few days ago and i noticed a big difference. idles alot smother engine is much more responsive and quieter... it's easy, the hardest part was unscrewing the clutch fan.... leave the belt on get a big wrench big enough to fit onto the but nut looking part of the fan clutch shaft, if you dont have the proper fan clutch remover tool which basically holds those 4 bolts that hold the pully on just stuck the wrench on so it's sticking strait up, get a big *** hammer hold with both hands and smash the wrench lefty loosey on the fords. took me about 4 hits then it spun off easy. take that plastic top shorud cover off and there are 2 bolts holding the fan shroud one on each side. lift the fan and shroud out at the same time. (easiest) you can spend 600 bucks for some flex-a-lite fans but if your cheap like mejust go to the wrekers and find a early 90's ford taurus 3.8, make sure it's a 3.8 there is a 2 speed single fan in those and it pulls alot of air, more than enough for your truck.... unless you have a blower or turbo, even then its probably big enough. your best and simpleist bet would be get a flex-a-lite fan controler, or any other brand, ( I like flex-a-lite cuz it haas nice features like you hook it up to your positive A/C wire so the fan spins at 60% when the compresser is on, and a reallly easy little temp probe you just stick into the rad fans, that controls the fans, it also has other cool features) get a universal zap tie mounting kit, strap it to the rad, you will probably have to take the 2 upper rad supports off 9easy only 2 bolts righ in your face on top) push the rad into the engine just so you can get your hands in there, "unless you have 5 year old sizedd hands lol'

just follow the intructions to wire it in, it's easy positive, negitive, fan pos and neg, 2 for the probe 1 for a/c and one you tap into a ignition wire, and your done all you haveto do is set the adjuster screw so your temp guage sits where it usually sits and whats nice about the flex-a-lite controller it varies the fan speed between 60 and 100% so it only spins as much as it needs to to keep athe engine at a constant temp.... DC controls also makes a good controller but i like flexalite cuz you cann wire in switches to override the fan on or off.... i like to play in the river so i like th off feature.... just make sure you get a controller that can handle 45amps cuz thats what that taurus fan pulls... i used the VSC 31165 controller it has 45 amp max, so i should be good.
