I am looking to add a switch where I can completely shut down all dome lights when doors open. I like to go hunting and really don't like to light up the area like Las Vegas strip when I open my doors. I was trying to find the best location where to find the wire to cut and splice in the rocker switch.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated

 

Inside the driver's door pocket or the driver's side kick panel is an easy spot. Just pick off the signal wire anywhere on its way to the GEM module.

Locate the BLK/YEL wire from the driver's door latch switch and install the switch in that wire. It's an input to the GEM module and will also kill the key chime when the door is opened.
