Headlight Low Beam
Headlight Low Beam
Purchased my new 2008 Ford F-150 XLT Screw almost two week's ago. Love the truck. A few day's ago I hit the Interstate at 3:30am on a trip to Pevely, MO. When I would have to use low beam, it seem the point of illumination out front was too close to the front of truck. Maybe 100'. At highway speeds, no way to avoid something in your lane, when it is not visible far enough ahead.(such as tire debris from Semi's). Any one else noticed this, or do light need to be readjusted? Hi beam put's out good light way up the road. Had the same problem on the way back south couple day's later when I left before daylight.

If you don't care where the mfgr says to aim them, you could always move them up a bit.
1st I would check that they are installed correctly ( seated in the mounting, and the 3 bolts installed ).
2nd there is some better light output from the SilverStar bulbs for both the headlamps, and the factory fog lamps if you have them.
I did the 2 step method to them, changed stock Sylvania bulbs to the XV version ( SS were not shipping yet ), and I did the driver's side 1st, and tried it out. Noticeable difference between the XV and the stock ones.
2nd step installed 1 SS in the driver's side, and tested that against the XV bulb, noticeable difference again. I never did stock to SS bulb, but considering each step was noticeable, I did not feel the need to go back down to the factory bulb.
Just some ideas, the check the mounting, and adjusting the lamp up a bit is free, and might do what you need it to do.
Good luck
