Total Electrical Failure!! Help Please!!

I was driving home from work tonight and at about 35mph I heard what I think was a pop and the entire truck died. I have had a bunch of muffler noise lately and have an appointment to have a new muffler put on it this Saturday. The check engine light came on about the same time I started hearing the muffler noise. I assumed it was because my emmisions sensor was picking up the muffler leak.
I was able to have a friend tow me to a safe parking spot but I need to get it fixed in the am and get back on the road.
We tried jumping it with absoulely no response. I visually checked the fuses in the engine compartment. Is this possibly a problem with the computer going bad. When this happened I lost everything as once, power and engine totally stopped.
Any ideas you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

When I turn the key there is absolutely nothing happening at all electrically. Exactlly like there is no battery connection. I was listening to the stock stereo and I believe that is where I heard the click or pop from when the truck shut down. I have no extra electrical add ons just the Laredo package running lights above the cab.
