98 f150 4.6 will not start

Just thought I would see if anyone could help me out. Had my tranny rebuilt last week at the Ford dealer here a few days ago. Got in it to go to work and it would not turn over .so maybe I have a dead battery . Put the charger on it for a few hours and it would spin over but not run. I did also notice that the alarm does not work . The thing will only turn over if the charger is on it. Any ideas ?
Thanks

1st, you really shouldnt have the charger on the battery while your trying to turn it over, if it does turn over your going to fry your charger.

2nd, get somebody with a truck, and a known good battery it in and try to jump your truck.

the charger only puts out around 10 amps to charge the battery. a decent battery is capable of putting out 650 amps to start the truck.
