Exclamation Installing Power Fold Mirriors?? [Pictures]

I would post this in the Expedition/Navigator forums, but no one ever seems to respond there... Okay well I bought some power folding mirriors for my 05 Expy and I thought that power folding mirriors always unfolded when you turned on the truck and folded when you turned off the truck. Turns out it doesn't work like that... I just recently found out that you need the switch on the drivers side panel like on the 05/06 Expedition Limiteds. Does anyone know where I can buy the switch and panel that goes with it? Here are some photos of a Navigator Panel (Couldn't find an Expedition Panel) and my Expeditions panel.

okay I found this switch on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m32 from a navigator (I think it'll fit since most nabi/expy parts are interchangeable) well the problem is how do I wire this and where does it go?

some help please...

Sorry I was out, and did not have time to look here.

If the lower picture is from your truck, where is you power mirror switch at now ?

I see the pwr windows, pwr locks, and the power seat position switch, but no power mirror switch.

my window switch

it's on the top left

but i don't know if the navigator switch will fit

because i just found this picture of a navigators panel and it doesn't have the pwr windows buttons, just pwr door locks, pwr seat position, and mirrior switch

but i think the Expedition switch is different from the Navigator because on this site
http://www.ford-trucks.com/tsb/fullt...php?tsb=06-2-5
it says

To Operate The Mirrors:

Navigator

Press the solo auto fold mirror switch to fold the mirrors in
Press the switch down again to auto unfold the mirrors back out
NOTE: ONLY ON THE NAVIGATOR THERE IS AN 8 SECOND DELAY (BETWEEN DEPLOY AND RETRACT)

Expedition

Rotate the 4-way mirror adjustment switch to the center position
Press the switch down to auto fold the mirrors in
Press the switch down again to auto unfold the mirrors back out

This might sound like a dumb question, but have you looked at the back of you mirror switch to see if it is the same one for the power fold mirrors ?

Some members on here with the 04+ have already had the correct switch installed when they did the power fold mirror modification.

I'm going to install the mirrors either tomorrow or monday and then I'll check and take some pictures so that you can see the back

but if I install the Navigator switch won't it stick out a bit?

I don't know it it would even fit in the area your switch is in. If you don't have the correct switch already, I would think the F-150 switch ( from an optioned truck, or from the King Ranch Edition ) would be a better install in the area you have.

I tried to find the support vendor here, without much luck ( the list seems to be gone with the change in ownership ). If you can find his screen name, that is one place ( carried the site before )

The others
www.oemfordparts.com
www.fastpartsnetwork.com

I looked on those sites but I can't tell if it's a power fold mirror switch, they only say "Mirror Switch"

pop them an email, asking if the switch on the site is the same as the Ring Ranch mirror switch with the power fold.

From posts I have read here, there is only 1 switch, it is just a matter of wiring it up.

The guys in TX and WA both answer emails quick when you send them off to them.
If it is not the correct part, they usually load the correct one, and email you the link to put it directly into the cart for check out.

good luck
