Help With Foglights!
my roush foglights came in the mail today! yay
and so i installed them and my new switch with the foglight pullout (since my truck didnt come with foglights but did have the wiring for them)
and so i put the plug from the factory harness in and tried them out...but to no avail
is there an extra fuse or anything for the foglights??
im at a complete loss here so any help would be appreciated

according to this website (https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp), and the owners manual i have looked at you need the following:
1) in the engine compartment you need to put a 15amp fuse in slot #9
2) in the engine compartment you need a relay in slot #206
3) check fuse #27 in the cab but it should already be there.

start with seeing if your fogs will work (just jumper them straight off the battery)
check the factory harness to see if your getting 12v to it, and its not all corroded out and dirty inside.
when you pull the switch out does the fog light indicator come on? (if not you may want to check the wiring on the switch you did.)

You (or someone you trust) need to bust out a voltmeter and check for continuity and ground at all applicable connectors
My fog lamp add-on went just fine. Everything was in place (the fuses/relays needed went to other already used circuits as well) and nothing was messed with by the previous owners.
Check your bulbs also.

the indicator light doesnt come on.
i got some electrical connector cleaner today so im gonna try that out
the fogs and bulbs are brand new so they shouldnt be the problem...
how risky is it to hook them directly to the battery to see if they work??

With the indicator lamp on the switch not coming on it is one of 2 things.
1. Fuse #27 in the Central Junction box is blown ( fuse panel in the cab )
or
2. You have the high beams on.
Could be a problem with the MFS, but that would show other problems ( i.e. you low beams don't work ).
I would suspect that there would be other problems with the main headlamp switch, if that was causing it., but the power to the indicator on the switch, as well as power to the fog lamp relay is from fuse #27, 5A which is from the MFS in the low beam position.

The fog lamp indicator is on in this picture.
I don't know what one you are talking about to the lower right of the ****.
If this is your truck, correct fuse #27 is good, and the MFS is the low position ( else the fog lamp icon would be out in that picture ).
If this is your truck, time to check the fog lamp relay.
Pull the half size ISO relay from the battery junction box, and jumper the contacts 3 to 5, as show in the drawing below. This will put power from Battery Junction box Fuse #9 directly to the fog lamps, removing the main headlamp switch, and MFS from the testing
ok well they came on when i jumpered them like you suggested
but atleast i finally got to see what they look like
i tried putting a new relay in and still nothing...
