Exclamation Wipers not working.

I have a 2001 XL, Recently my wipers and wiper fluid pump stopped working. I have checked the Fuses, Relays, Wiper Motor Connection. But when ever i try to turn the wipers on, or try to clean the windshield. Neither the pump nor the motor turns on. It seems like the only thing i can do is take it to Ford to get it checked out. But im sure they will charge me in excess of $100 to just check it out. Any Ideas on how to go about fixing this?

By the way, They both went out at the same time.

The Sooner the Better, Because I live in Texas and when it rain, It pours.

Sounds to me like the issue is in the switch. The pump and wiper motor are different components, correct? And if you don't have a bad fuse, the only other spot where the two come together is the switch.

Although, there must be some sort of relay that tells the wiper to run when you spray the fluid, right??? Perhaps that is bad?

That would be a great place to start. Mine seem to turn on ok, just never shut off. This is with a new arm. I think my connections are screwey because if I hold them together tight, it works fine. I have broken 1 or 2 tabs that retain the connectors together which I think is the problem.
