Posted before, I bought an 04 Lariat, used never had cruise cont since I bought it. I have never seen the indicator light come on at any time. Took it to a repair shop and they said diag said no power to switch. They replaced the steering wheel controls for radio, temp and cruise. I still have no cruise but all the other functions work(always did). Is there a self test I can do? I really dont want to go to ford and pay another diag test fee if I can help it. Is there certain fuses I should look at and there corresponding fuse # in the panel? Some of my switches for my windows dont light up at night but still work (power rear window and drivers window) Would this be related? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, especially a self test . Thanks Doug

Don't know if this will help or not, but I have 2002 f150 supercrew. I bought it new, lost horn and cruise control. I did not take it in for cruise contol recall and as a result it caused a short in the speed control unit locate in the engine compartment(totally my fault on that). On mine it is located in front of the fuse box in the engine compartment. You might want remove the electrical plug connect to the speed control the see if there is any indication of a short. Again I don't know if this will help, but thought I would suggest it.
