rear drivers side window wont roll down

ok, so i just read the thread thats a few down from this one about the windows not moving at all, and in it someone had almost the same problem as me, execpt my rear driver window will roll down fine and wont roll back up. i just bought a brand new motor and it still does the same thing. niether the switch on the driver door or on the rear door will make it go up. also, the automatic roll down on the driver window stopped working too. maybe its related. im still trying to diagnose it right now but its starting to get me angry.

any ideas guys?

ok. so ive narrowed it down a little bit. on both the switch at the rear door and the switch at the driver door for the rear window, there is a wire on both that is reading 12V for both the up and the down operation here is what readings i got for positive wires going into both switches.

one reads 12v constant
one reads 12v with switch in down position
and one reads 12v with switch in up AND down position

so im thinking that somewhere those wires are crossed or touching maybe. the one that goes into the driver door switch is grey/orange and the one with the same reading on the rear door is yellow/blue.

I would check the where the wires acutally go between the door and the truck body. It will be surrounded by rubber and you will have to take it apart to check the wires. You could have a broken wire in there that would be shorting out. I am the guy that started that other thread, I have a how to fix it thread just above it on how to take care of the wires. And to me if you are describing it right sounds more like a window switch problem then the motor. I would try rolling it up using both switches first. (one at a time of coarse) If it rolls up on one and not the other then I would say the contacts on the switch are bad. The switch is super easy to replace and can be fixed in ten min. I would start with the simplest idea and move to the harder one. I would start by just checking the switches and then go to checking the wires. I am almost positive its the switch itself. Ps. the underlined words are direct links to the two other threads. If you read both of them they should cover what you are looking for. If you still cant figure it out let me know.

thanks man, and thats what i was saying is that neither switch will work and both of them do the exact same thing. they both roll the window down but not back up so im looking into the wiring right now.

its a wire issue then. It could be between either door and the truck body. If that does not fix it, let me know I have one other step you can do to expose the wire the entire length between the master switch and the window that is not rolling down.
