Oil Light bouncing up n down

Every time I start my car the oil gage usually goes up to its normal setting between L and H. Then it goes back down, then usually goes back up, then down, then up, then stays between L and H (normal) after driving the car a while.

I can drive normally with nothing wrong but I just want to know whats up why does it go up and down..

BTW i just got a new battery, so thats out of the answer .

Can almost guarantee you that it's the sender. Oil pressure gauges are an idiot light with a needle anymore- they are not giving you an actual reading of pressure. Did you ever notice before it started doing this that once you started it never moved from that approximate middle area. Idle is the same as 4k Rpm. That's your 1st. clue that it's only there to make you feel good- not to actually give you oil pressure.

Or could be a loose connection at the sender. I believe it's just above, or to the side of the oil filter.

Somtimes when changing the oil filter that wire can mistakenly become disconnected. Verify by disconnecting and reconnecting.

Good luck,

Joey

Checked oil sensor last month or 2 months ago, that wasn't the case.
Asked a friend who came out of UTI and said it was probably my cluster and I could rip one out of another truck...
I think I should just buy a new one, a custom one.
Should I be worried at all because it seems like the line is closer to H than normal...
I changed my oil 2 months ago or 1 month and the oil is slightly above the crosshatch and I put in about 6.5Quarts of oil. Still confused why isn't it in the middle range.
Am I suppose to be running the car HOT for it to be in the crosshatch area.
Thanks guys for any input.
