Ignition Switch Removal
What's the trick for getting the Ignition Switch removed on the '99 F-150? Or is it even necessary? The point is, I need to get the top half of the cover from around the steering column because I need to replace the auto-shift selector. I need to replace the shift selector because the O/D lockout **** is split apart, doesn't work, and LOOKS LIKE ##x!! Any hints or existing links?
look upfrom bottom of column you will see 2 hole if you shine flashlight on will have little ball in it you need to push that ball in with oring pick or awl while turning key then the ign will just slide out you don't have to push very hard good luck
Thanks kburchak!
I found the little ball that you spoke of and the assembly slid right out, just like you said. BUT, it looks like I'm gonna have to remove more of the dash than orginally planned in order to get to the shift selector. Onward through the fog...
