I have an 05 FX4 with the keypad on the door. A coworker has discovered my main door code, and I was told by Ford that the only way to change this now, is to replace the module. So, I have ordered a new RKE (remote keyless entry) module, and I am going to replace it. My question is: can I just unplug the old one, plug in the new one, reprogram my keyfobs and be done? Or do I also have to have it synchronized with the instrument cluster or ecm for the PATS system or something?

 

anyone? aren't there some Ford techs here?
