Power lock motors...

I know it's a normal thing with Ford's to have your power locks go out after time. For anyone who has replaced them, where did you get the motors from? I've looked at a few sites online and have found nothing. Is it a dealer only item? Thanks in advance.

I haven't replaced factory actuators, but I have installed countless aftermarket actuators and they turn out great, you could just add your own if u cant get 'em but I doubt it

Go to allelectronics.com... They've got actuators available for $5.50/ea. Ordered 2 of them just last night to replace mine and you can read reviews there of others that have used them for their Ford products.

here is that link to the step by step. the way i see it is you was plannin on replacing the actuators anyway so why not try this first? like i said i did it bout 7months ago and mine still pop ev time i hit the button either in the truck or on the key fob. only thing i did differently was i went ahead and short circuited the spot where the thermister goes because the only way you will burn up your motor is if you sit there holdin down the button constantly. so don't hold down the button and don't let your kids(if you have them) sit there and play with them and you will be fine. better than 45 bux a piece!!
